Hellas Rally 2024 :: M4 Husqvarna FE 501 2024
my adventure at Hellas Rally. that ended end of Day 4 with a broken Tibia and Perone, right leg. Front tire washed out left while at the top of a mountain in Karpinissi. I was there going super slow and was just scouting for the track when a first stone bounced me up and on landing a second stone slide my front tire out left.
It was raining, mud and wet grass.
Landed almost face down with the bad luck the my right leg got under the bike and was twisted right backwards.
It took just a minute to have another rider helping out and 20 minutes, or more, before the first medic arrived. An hour later I was on my way to the hospital, a difficult drive downhill.

I managed 231km special stage, and on the 2nd uphill a stone caught my right leg. I broke the tibia 😞

Gracias!! Se rompió, y de todas mis salidas es la primera vez. Por suerte no era en la especial sino en una etapa limitada a 50, así que poco a poco y freno motor, que con la 690 no es problema. Un abrazo

Do you drive from the city with the bike? or taking the bikes with a car to the first entrance?
We dive directly from the city, bikes are road legal (must be, also when doing off-road, proper insurance). From Sant vicenç del Horts you can go off road. From June this year you will be able to stop at our terrain very near caldes de montbui, camping specially for bikers ;)

had the luck to see one of these engines torn down.. not what i expected, under all the fancy stuff was a tough , well designed race engine..domed pistons, short stroke, very well lubricated, 4 bolt main caps, fat over strong con rods, forged crank, block and head that were much stronger than they look.. over built if anything, the engineering was at another level, especially in the castings. If anything the fuel metering and electrics let them down, but that was common back in the day.. this one had seen some abuse, but the bearings, pistons heads all looked brand new, over fueling on cold starts had worn the head gasket, but the internals hadn't suffered a bit.. A piston kit, no over bore, and some new bearing caps, same size, as there was no wear, and a few other goodies..re assembled, and runs well to this day.. in fact he drove it from Toronto, to Arizona, without a hitch at high speeds for long stretches .. even does well in traffic though he did new rads, and an injection system.. testament to how tough these engines are though.. totally changed my perception of italian engineering..

Hola, la ruta la hizo este chico con una gs800. Pero hay muchas zonas complicadas, se puede pero con un buen protector de Carter. En un par de días subo el vídeo completo. No vivo por ahí, y alquilo moto a EnduroBarcelona.com un par de veces al año. :) Saludos

Sorry, not with the Tiger 955i. Switched to a lighter bike (KTM 690) and did the Rally Albania 2018, check my playlist: ua-cam.com/video/yO80uVH4zQc/v-deo.html That you should not even attempt on a tiger :P But I liked a lot the Triumph... TIM is perfect for that bike, maybe even better on the newer 800.

Hi MT, thanks a lot for your comment. Trans Italian Marathon is a relative easy off road marathon, many kms and it's about getting to the end without racing ( despite someone believes it's about racing ). The Tiger955i did splendid, the rear suspension was a bit hard as it was set to travel road and loaded, but fixed it later on. Riding with the tiger was a pleasure because of it's power and very elastic engine, as you may hear in the video I barely shifted gears making the tour enjoyable with the beautiful view Italia gives you. TIM is very recommended, book hotels as soon you know you are in. Team is great and spirit also. Hope they improve their English support to open for none Italian speakers. Have fun, ride safe :)
